Handling Right-to-Left Layout for Arabic on Multilingual Sites
Right-to-left isn't just about flipping direction. Icons, spacing, and number layout must also be adjusted to maintain reading flow.
The challenge with the Arabic version isn't translation—it's layout direction. When the entire page flips to RTL, navigation, icons, and list markers shift accordingly, requiring verification for each section.
The solution is to add direction markers to the page, replace fixed left/right layout values with logical properties, and separately adjust icon orientations. Numbers and English text remain left-to-right in Arabic.
A native speaker reviewed the content before launch. The main issues were with punctuation and bracket direction—details only apparent through actual reading.
